Cadiz Inc. (NASDAQ:CDZI/CDZIP) issued the following statement supporting Gov. Newsom’s comments on the federal government’s release of its final Record of Decision for the Coordinated Operations of the Colorado River (2027–2036) on August 21, 2026. “Gov. Newsom is right: the Colorado River plan buys time, but it provides only short-term stability for a river that 40 million Americans depend on. California has already reduced its Colorado River water use to the lowest level since 1949, even as climate change threatens a regional water crisis.

“Developing new, reliable supplies is the next immediate step to support people and communities impacted by the Colorado River crisis. The Mojave Groundwater Bank is a large-scale solution that can deliver clean, affordable water. The Colorado River cannot carry the Southwest alone anymore. The Southwest needs stable, new water supplies, and the Mojave Groundwater Bank is the project that can deliver it.”
