Participants

Six Southern California water providers are participating in Project, including:
- Santa Margarita Water District
- Three Valleys Municipal Water District
- Suburban Water Systems
- Golden State Water Company
- Jurupa Community Services
- California Water Service Company
Santa Margarita Water District (SMWD) served as lead agency for the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) environmental review process for the Project. In July 2012, the Board of Directors of SMWD certified the environmental documents, approved the Project and also entered into a purchase and sale agreement, finalizing terms for their participation in the Project.
Additional Participants
As of August 2012, 80% of the Project’s water supplies are under option or committed under purchase agreement. Additional water providers may join the Project at any time until the Project’s capacity is reached. Supplies are also being reserved for future use by San Bernardino County-based water agencies.
The Arizona California Railroad Company (ARZC) is also participating in the Project. The Project’s water conveyance pipeline will be buried within the existing ARZC railroad right-of-way and the railroad has requested water from the Project to meet critical railroad purposes, including fire suppression needs along the rail line. ARZC will also have access to roads and power facilities constructed by the Project.
